How to Obtain a Visa Document?

If you are visiting India for tourism, business, or family reasons and wish to stay for more than 180 days in a fiscal year (January-December), you will need to obtain a visa. The process of obtaining a visa can be done online or at an Indian embassy or consulate.

To obtain an online visa, you will need to provide your passport information as well as the dates of your stay in India. If you are visiting India for business purposes, you will need to provide documentation that proves your company exists and that you have hired staff in India. You will also need to provide proof of funds sufficient to cover your stay in India. For tourists, the most common documentation required is a photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. If you are visiting India for family reasons and are not carrying any other documentation than a valid passport, you will be allowed entry into India without being issued a visa. However, if you plan on staying longer than 180 days in a fiscal year, you will need to obtain a tourist visa which requires less documentation than a business or tourist visa and costs less money. The process of obtaining a tourist visa can vary depending on where you are located in India but typically involves providing your passport information as well as proof of accommodation and funds sufficient for your stay in India.

How to Check if You Are Eligible to Apply for a Indian Visa?

If you are a citizen of India, you most likely already have all the documents you need to apply for a visa. But just in case, here are the basics: -Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your planned departure from India. If you’re traveling for less than six months, your passport will do.

-You must have a return or onward ticket.

-You must have evidence of sufficient funds to cover your stay in India (more on this below).

-You must provide your original passport and birth certificate as documents of identity.

-You will also need two photographs that can be taken within 30 days of your visa application date. The photos should show both sides of your face. You can get these photos taken at a local photo shop or by having someone take them for you while you are wearing something recognizable (like a favorite shirt or hat).
